You Can Bet on the Falls

The roar of Niagara Falls is left behind when you walk up the hill to the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort, with its beautiful scenes and atrium above Victoria Park. Check out the slots, then relax in the atrium and do some shopping with all your winnings in a glistening space. Then eat at 17 Noir, an elegant restaurant facing the falls and take in a view of the pathway along the river.

Niagara Falls, Ontario, is home to the Niagara Fallsview, the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel and the Casino Niagara. There are only two catches — the children cannot accompany their parents, and a passport is required, but flashing lights and blackjack tables tempt any would-be gambler. The Casino Niagara is located across from the Rainbow Bridge on Clifton Hill, and if you head here to gamble, plan to dine at the Market Buffet or Lucky’s Steakhouse.

Gambling like a Canadian means doing it against the backdrop of the Falls. No trip is complete without experiencing the falls up close, either on a misty boat ride on Maid of the Mist or an under-the-falls excursion on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.

The casinos may be fun, but you’ll also want to enjoy the glass-enclosed Butterfly Conservatory and the Bird Kingdom at the Niagara Falls Aviary, eat a Hershey’s bar at the Hershey Store and go to the Ripley’s Museum. Another perk? Niagara-on-the-Lake and a bevy of wineries are a meandering drive away.
