Weaving Fairways

Weaving Fairways
The Longaberger Company may be best known for its basket business, but it has also woven quite a reputation for world-class golf at the Longaberger Golf Club.

Located in the Licking County town of Nashport, Ohio, the Arthur Hills-designed course is strategically positioned right between the company’s basket-making operation in Newark and the Longaberger Homestead in Dresden, where you’ll find quaint shops and good eats. Very much by design, a trip here is mutually beneficial for both golfers and shoppers.

As for the course, designer Hills took advantage of the natural landscape to lay out a well-manicured track that meanders over hundreds of scenic acres. Depending on your ability, the course can play as short as 4,985 yards from the forward tees to a lengthy 7,243 yards from the tips. But regardless of your tee choice, a successful round requires some strategic thinking, and smooth swinging, to avoid the well-placed hazards each hole presents.

If your round doesn’t go as planned, don’t fret. Just relax and experience the beauty of a course that’s earned the Certified Signature Sanctuary distinction from Audubon International. Going green here is about more than the grass; the club is dedicated to environmental best practices, including the conservation of wildlife habitats.

At the end of the day, head to the Grill Room, grab a seat on the balcony and enjoy a breathtaking view of the 18th hole. Before you know it, you’ll be planning your next round.
