Two-Nation Vacation
Celebrating Fourth of July and Canada Day
Spring/Summer 2011

Be a patriot this July — whichever flag you salute — over beautiful Niagara Falls.
On July 1, enjoy a giant birthday cake decorated with the Maple Leaf during Canada Day at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, before you spend the Fourth of July with Old Glory in Niagara Falls, New York.
Laugh along at the comedic “Oh Canada, Eh? Dinner Show” in Niagara Falls, Ontario, then taste British-inspired fish and chips at Betty’s Restaurant. The whole family will enjoy making custom Canada Day candy at Pop & Lolly’s and then admiring the view from the elevator in the Skylon Tower, or from a car on the Niagara SkyWheel.
There are also Canada Day concerts on the Illumination Tower Stage, located directly across from the falls, and chances to meet an official Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Mountie at Table Rock Centre. Take the kids for “Chocolate Sparklers” — milk chocolate on a stick with pop rocks — at Nigh’s Chocolate, or pack up a picnic, find a shady spot and just enjoy people watching. After sightseeing in Canada by land, get an overview of both nations by air on a helicopter tour or aboard the Maid of the Mist boat.
Back in the family van, gather up your passports and make the border crossing to the U.S. side of Niagara Falls. Have lunch at Niagara Falls State Park’s Top of the Falls, and then see the rushing waters from the impressive Niagara Falls Observation Tower. On Independence Day, walk back across the bridge to Niagara Falls, Ontario, for American fireworks that are best seen from the north.
