The Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana, boasts the Indiana National Golf Club (two regulation courses), a wonderful spa, a host of packages and accommodation options and a singular attraction for golfers: the Academy.
The United States Golf Academy at Swan Lake is committed to making you a better golfer. Every touring pro has at least one teacher; why not the rest of us? PGA professionals, selected on the basis of teaching ability, depth of golf skills, commitment to students and a passion for the game, make up the Academy staff.
The Academy isn’t here for the quick fix. Started almost 40 years ago, the course of study has expanded to take in technological innovations, whether in club design or swing analysis. Golf is held in the same high regard as any subject worthy of study, and the three-year teaching program created by the Academy reflects that.
In each year, the package includes lodging in a deluxe resort room, breakfast and dinner at Sam Snead’s Tavern & Grill, and PGA instruction. In the first year, it is six hours of instruction, eight hours for the second year, 10 hours for the third. Each summer, the focus changes as the Academy further grooms the complete player. In each of the two-day packages, unlimited play is included.
Imagine that: summer school that sets hearts to racing.
Like all great resorts, Swan Lake constantly seeks to improve. At present, there are deluxe suites and rooms, as well as cottages, cabins in the woods and RV pads. This spring, new villas will be added to the mix.
