High Stakes in Hoosier County

Hoosier Park
Fall/Winter 2008
Don’t worry if gamers seem a tad distracted from their winning hands at casinos around the Midwest. It’s likely the casino enthusiasts have their eyes on central Indiana.

Hoosier Park in Anderson, Indiana, completed a $100 million expansion this summer, adding an additional 54,000 square feet of casino space. Now, visitors can tempt Lady Luck at more than 2,000 new electronic slot machines and a wealth of table games, while more serious thrill seekers can test their skills at Hoosier Park’s High Limit area, lined with high-stakes slots, video poker and multi-player blackjack, roulette and poker games.

But Hoosier Park also prides itself on welcoming players with any budget — slot machines and table games accept denominations ranging from a penny to $100 — as well as featuring special amenities for a diverse clientele. To that end, the casino occupies a single level for easy access; a state-of-the-art filtration system keeps cigarette fumes to a minimum.

For even more entertaining diversions, guests can take in Hoosier Park’s live thoroughbred racing, August 29–November 23, or make plans to attend performance from stars like Aretha Franklin, who appears on September 20. A visit to one of the nine restaurants and lounges completes the Hoosier Park experience: With tasty spots such as Double R Bar and Big Deli conveniently located near the gaming floor, visitors can grab a bite and get back to betting in no time.
