Hat Tricks and Power Plays

Hockey Hall of Fame
Fall/Winter 2009
If you think you have what it takes to drive a puck into the net, this is your chance to prove it. At the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, state-of-the-art interactive games create a virtual experience for visitors, with an opportunity go one-on-one with real pucks and a stick — or grab your glove and blocker and face the best shooters in the league. Take shots at real-time goals or stop the shots of National Hockey League greats like Gretzky and Messier. It’s your choice, but don’t worry — there’s a level for everyone, from rookie to all-star.

Hockey fans love the 6,000-square-foot NHL Zone featuring artifacts and videos honoring Hall of Fame members, complete with granite and stainless-steel showcases throughout. Prepare to be wowed as you enter the NHL Legends exhibit,  highlighted by 9-foot statues of Cyclone Taylor and Ken Dryden.

But don’t stop there. Additional exhibits have plenty to offer, such as NHL Today, which spotlights the stars of today’s NHL, and NHL Retro, a fascinating presentation of franchise histories. Yet another exhibit, NHL Milestones, features the best of the NHL Record Book, including Bill Mosienko’s three goals in 21 seconds and Terry Sawchuk’s 103 shutouts.

Even occasional hockey fans will marvel at the Verizon Great Hall, an inner sanctum of trophies and rings. Get your photo taken with the Stanley Cup, hockey’s ultimate prize, or get a close-up look at the 2008 Stanley Cup ring on display from the Detroit Red Wings.
