Gourds Galore
With a name like Pumpkinville, you know exactly what this place specializes in. Located in western New York’s Southern Tier, about 90 minutes south of Buffalo, Pumpkinville is New York State’s oldest continually working pumpkin farm.
Naturally, you’re going to find row after row of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes for sale. However, the farm isn’t merely a market — it’s a fall entertainment destination.
Besides the orange gourds, one of the first things you’ll notice at the farm is the wonderful aroma of baked goods. You can stand by the window of Di’s Pie and Bake Shop and watch as pumpkin doughnuts and other made-from-scratch goodies — think muffins, pies, bread and cookies galore — are made.

Next door at the Snack Shack, try some pumpkin ice cream, apple slices with caramel sauce and freshly squeezed apple cider, made in the circa-1870 cider mill. If it’s a warm fall day, try an apple slushie. Other foods available include hot dogs, beef on weck sandwiches, Italian sausage and chili.
Children’s activities include a six-acre corn maze, pony rides and a corn cannon, where you can fire corncobs at a hay bale target. Perfect photo opportunities abound as there are numerous Halloween and fall-themed wooden cut-outs throughout the grounds.
You can also purchase a number of items, including flowers, apples, squash, homemade fudge, fall décor items, cookbooks, jam and craft items to help you remember your visit.
