Break Away at the Brickyard

Indy Racing Experience
Spring/Summer 2008
Break Away at the Brickyard
Auto racing enthusiasts have flocked to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 1909, settling themselves into the world’s largest spectator sporting facility with more than 250,000 others. Now those who would rather experience speed first-hand have more reason than ever to visit the Brickyard.

The Speedway offers visitors the chance to ride in or drive an IndyCar themselves through the Indy Racing Experience. Participants suit up in authentic race gear and either join an experienced Indy Racing League driver or steer their own authentic open-wheel race car around the Speedway at speeds approaching 200 mph.

Two-seat IndyCars offer the most speed for the money. Cars are powered by authentic racing engines and stretched to accommodate a licensed driver and passenger. Guests determined to drive their own IndyCars receive orientation, don protective gear and strap into single-seat vehicles before following a pace car around the track at speeds approaching 130 mph. Whether visitors experience Indy’s g-forces from the passenger’s or driver’s seat, no other driving experience compares to the thrill of zooming around the speedway.

IndyCar rides and drives are available from July through October, weather permitting.
